How and when you get paid
The two halves, and what holds the second one.
Mentors
Each seat sold creates two payouts, of half each.
- The first is due when the cohort starts.
- The second is due when the cohort finishes AND the work learners submitted has been marked.
The second half is deliberately held until the marking is done. A cohort is not finished when the last session ends; it is finished when the people who paid have had their work looked at.
Where the halves do not divide evenly, the second payout carries the odd shilling, so the two always add up to exactly what you are owed.
Payouts are sent to the M-Pesa number on your mentor profile. Keep it current — you cannot delete your account while a payout is still owed to you, precisely because deleting it would remove the number we owe the money to.
