Terms of service
The agreement between you and Elevate. Short, because you should be able to read it.

Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and to be confirmed: the registered company name, exactly as on the CR12, trading as Elevate. Creating an account means you accept them.
You must be at least 18 to hold an account.
What Elevate is, and is not
Elevate is a platform that connects learners with mentors. The mentor designs the programme, teaches the sessions and marks the work. We vet mentors before they can publish, we take the payments, and we handle the money between you.
We are not the teacher. We do not guarantee that a programme will get you a job, a promotion, a client or any particular result. What we do guarantee is that the mentor was checked, that the sessions described are the sessions scheduled, and that if we fail to deliver a cohort you get your money back.
Your account
The account is yours alone. Do not share your password, and do not let somebody else use your seat — a cohort has a fixed number of places, and a shared login takes one from somebody who paid for it.
Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into your account. You can change your password at any time in your settings.
Paying
Prices are in Kenyan shillings and are shown in full before you pay, including our fee. The minimum price for a seat is KES 15,000.
Where a mentor offers instalments, your place is held while you keep to the schedule. If an instalment is overdue beyond the grace period shown at checkout, access is suspended until it is paid.
Refunds are governed by our refund policy, which is part of these terms.
If you are a learner
- Course materials, including videos, are for you. Do not record, download, re-upload or redistribute them.
- Work you submit stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to show it to your mentor so it can be marked.
- Discussions are shared with your cohort. Be civil. We can hide a post and, for repeated abuse, remove an account.
If you are a mentor
- Your programme must be yours to teach. Do not publish material you do not have the right to use.
- Teach the cohort you sold. If you cannot finish one, tell us before it starts rather than after.
- Our commission is deducted at the moment a learner pays, at the rate in force then. Changing the fee schedule later never changes what you are owed for seats already sold.
- You are paid in two parts: half when the cohort starts, half when it finishes and the work you were given has been marked.
- You are responsible for your own tax. We collect your KRA PIN because we are required to.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. A mentor cannot delete an account while teaching a cohort that has learners in it, or while money is owed to them — finish or cancel the cohort first, and let us pay you.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to defraud somebody, or that puts other people at risk. Where we do, we will say why.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for delivering the platform and for handling your money correctly. If we fail to deliver a cohort you paid for, you get that money back in full.
We are not responsible for what a mentor says in a session, for outcomes in your career, or for losses that do not follow directly from something we did wrong. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes
We may change these terms. If a change affects you materially, we will tell you before it takes effect. Changes never apply retroactively to a cohort you have already paid for.
